Noise: Reduce Color Noise Microscope Images

How to reduce color noise due to color fringing, a phenomenon that occurs at edges of features creating false color. Color fringing can occur when taking brightfield pictures (histology slides with chromagenic dyes) through a microscope when imaging in color.

How to Reduce Color Noise in GIMP

Follow same steps as in Photoshop except that the Layer Mode is HSL Color.
